New York Print Fair 2011

November 10, 2011

So I just wanted to state that this year I traveled to New York to view all the different artists who were being represented at the Print Fair and wow it was amazing. I will be posting on some of these artists in the near future but let me leave you with one who I found so inspiring for my own work.

Her name is Alyson Shotz a Brooklyn, New York Artist represented by the Derek Eller Gallery in Chelsea, NY. Her work ranges in many different forms of media such as installation, painting, photography and print. I discovered her at the Armory show I believe when I saw a very geometric print of hers shown bellow. Her work focuses on ideas of space, light and perception using natural phenomena and mathematics as driving forces behind the work. She was born in 1964 in Arizona and received her degree from RISD in 1987. She is widely represented around the world at top museums and has received many fellowships as well as awards. I won’t lie I’m currently loving all of this!
